During the period of 12 December 2021 to 21 January 2022, Maosen Australia Pty Ltd undertook a diamond drilling program at the Braemar project. Drilling was completed by Durock Drilling Co Pty Ltd using a Sandvick DE840 multipurpose drill rig. Two diamond drill holes were completed with a total depth of 365.6 m. Drillhole locations were determined using a hand-held GPS. Cores were logged on site by Maosen’s consultant geologitsts.
Table: Drillhole locations (MGA94 – Zone 54)
TENEMENT | Hole ID | Type | Easting | Northing | Azimuth | Dip | Total Hole Depth |
EL6206 | BRDD001 | Diamond | 376472 | 6321490 | 285 | -60 | 200 |
EL6206 | BRDD002 | Diamond | 376661 | 6321847 | 285 | -60 | 165.6 |
SG was measured using the GeoDynamics system on dry basis using the apparatus shown in the picture below. Samples were selected at random within every 2m interval.
Magnetic susceptibility was measured by scanning each 2m interval in the core trays and recording the average and maximum readings. Magnetic susceptibilities range from zero up to 2000 × 10-3 SI.
Based on the recent logging, the magnetite deposit of the Braemar area is overlain by 20 – 30 thick sedimentary rocks (clay, siltstone, etc.), followed by 10 – 20 m hematite siltstone. Magnetite siltstone appears from around 50 m and is supposed to dip steeply to the east at the drilling area.
